Greetings Families, The Armory will begin their parking lot renovation this week. Due to safety concerns they have noted and this renovation project, they are asking that Longfellow/Pinewood families and staff NOT use their property for school drop off/pick up and parking. RPS families: This is a reminder that except for Longfellow Elementary, there is no school tomorrow, Friday, August 30. RPS is also closed on Monday, September 2, in observance of Labor Day. Enjoy the long weekend, and we will see you next Tuesday!

Longfellow DOES have school on Friday, August 30th. 2. Longfellow students will not have bussing on Friday, August 30th. 3. Consider alternate park and walk to drop off and pick up your student: McQuillan, parking spots behind Longfellow. Thank you for your patience and support!

Today is the first day of school for elementary students, and we expect some delays in bus transportation, especially as our bus drivers learn the new route structure with the changeover from transporting elementary students home and turning around to pick up our secondary students. Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we navigate this and continuously work to improve our processes. Families using Transportation can download the First View app to see where their student's buses are. The district code for the app is M6QE.

8/26/24: Due to an excessive heat warning issued for this afternoon and evening, all outdoor athletic sports and activities are canceled. However, some coaches may still have indoor practice plans. Please check in with them for this information.

Our PTA has created a wonderfully drawn diagram to guide our drop off and pick up procedures (see attached photos). 2. Greetings Longfellow Families! I will be sharing quick “tips for the day” from Longfellow several times per week. These are intended to keep you informed and our students safe! 1. DO NOT drive the wrong way to pass the pick up lane to enter the parking lot. We have had several near accidents-safety comes first! 2. Please stay in your vehicle during drop off and pick up. 2. Once your child is loaded/unloaded, you may pass and exit in the passing zone in the left lane. 3. Greetings Longfellow Families, It has been a fantastic first week! Just a few updates: • To ease traffic in the morning, we will begin student drop off at 7:30am. Please remember to stay in your car when dropping off. • We now have a passing lane in the drop off zone. If your student has left your car, you may safely pass on the left. • Families enrolled in the Boys and Girls Club programming, please pay close attention to the calendar they emailed out for the year.
